Home lighting is not only the practical tool that enables you to see. Previously, we have introduced you the beautiful interior lighting for every room. LED lights may be considered as some useful and smart lights that are suitable for interior and exterior areas with lower visibility. We want to represent you LED lights as a very stylish and trendy decoration that can completely change your home atmosphere. With our advice, your rooms can turn into a very personal place for relaxing moments.
How to choose a right one
When buying bulbs you probably looking for watts to reveal, how bright the bulb will be. LEDbrightness isn´t indicated by wattage but by the energy amount. A different measurement used for LEDs is a lumen. Fortunately, a watt-lumen conversion for incandescents and LEDs exists.
Different LED colours
As you probably found, LED can produce a variety of colours ranging from red to purple and to a spectrum of whites and yellows. For your home, you are most likely looking for something similar to the incandescent light so the best choice will be warm white and soft white. Technically, the light colour is measured in kelvins. The lower the number the warmer the light. Typical incandescent is between 2700 and 3500K. Cool white gives more bright light, so it should be used for tasks – working, reading, writing. Neutral white is the most natural colour very close to sunlight. Warm white is suitable for leisure time and provides relaxing feelings.
Price vs quality
Think about LED as an investment. When switching to this light type, expect higher first payment in comparison to classic bulbs. At the end, you will enjoy less heat production and longer bulb life.
LED lighting placement tips
Avoid LED downlight placement in the room corners if you don´t want the light to be wasted. For taking all of the benefits of power saving, place the lights as shown in the picture below.
Free fan diameter
Keep lights away from the running diameter of fan blades. Otherwise, this combination will create flicker in the whole room. Standard distance between light and ceiling fan will ensure the desired result.
Don´t choose a few high power lights to fulfil your lumens requirements. Choose instead more LEDs with lower power to provide a good distribution in your room. Ideal light spacing will give you proper illumination.
Consider ceiling heights and make measurements. With higher ceiling you will need more powerful lights to illuminate all your room.
LED light in your rooms
For every room little sensibleness is needed to achieve a cosy and pretty look. Kitchen requires being illuminated entirely to see the cleanness, platform and sink. Combine ambient light, under cabinet lighting and narrow beam lights.
Dining room requires focusing on the dining table. Hang a pendant type of light at a correct high. Ambient light can be provided by ceiling lights.
In your living room eliminate any strong shadows and create an ambient light environment.
Don´t use heavy lighting in your bedroom. Accent lighting for photo frames and reading lamps are just enough.
In bathroom light on both side of a mirror and add some light for cleaning purpose to create a cosy feeling.
LED strip light
This type of light is a flexible board with light emitting diodes on its surface and adhesive backing. It is often used as accent lighting, backlighting, task lighting and decorative applications which completely change your home atmosphere. Lights differ in colours and control type. You can find single colour light (with white or any monochrome colour), multicolour (different fixed colours), RGB non-addressable (similar to single colour) and RGB addressable (multicolour lights can be triggered for strobing or colour changing). A customised version can be regulated by controller or microcontroller for desired brightness, colour and activity.
