Without seeing this renovation and only hearing a basic description, you maybe forgiven for imagining it to be cold and uninviting; metro tiles and stainless steel do not speak stylish and welcoming, yet that is exactly what this kitchen is, and so much more.

This is a tremendous kitchen. The picture perfect symmetry of the rustic floating shelves hovering above those high gloss bevelled metro tiles, parted by a stainless steel cooker hood extractor and a river-like splashback that appears to flow onto the worktop and transform itself into a modish wrought iron hob, before flowing waterfall-like into a sleek contemporary oven, is visually excellent. The coiled pull out kitchen tap with pull down sprayer is a reminder that this is indeed a modern kitchen, paying homage to other eras with some retro features.

Add to this rich black kitchen cabinets with thoughtfully chosen boss bar handles, topped with winter white quartz work tops and you have a joy of a kitchen.

The dining space has been given added chic with Charles and Ray Eames inspired Eiffel dining chairs and matching table in china white - beautifully contrasting with the dark units. All this is laid upon dark wood textured flooring and overseen by splendid bronze dome pendant lights.

This is another triumph of renovation.
